Fragments from the Surface
This long running documentary style photography project has been shot primarily on the streets of my home town. I started at 6.30 a.m. each morning and worked until 9.00 a.m. catching the beginnings of each day. These images deal with the day to day existence of life in the UK, a visual poem of sadness and darkness shot in black and white. Greatly inspired by Robert Frank's book, The Americans, I found the same sense of alienation and struggle here in Britain.
A book is slowly coming together under the title, Fragments from the Surface and will be available 2018 from the Document Now shop the photographs will also be available for exhibition.
